I've been working on the Flag Stats Project for a while now, and part
of the problem with assembling this data for use is that Flag has so
many damn courses that the collection and reporting becomes quite
cumbersome.
I've taken the time to sort through the muck and present you with just
the "Auditing side of the Bridge" stats.
I have assembled the first part of the information, to align with the
"The Bridge to Total Freedom", or that part of the Bridge that deals
with auditing only.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with the Scn Bridge, there
are two main sections, The Auditing Route, as presented below
and the Training Route, which I am still working on.
Flag offers every service available in Scn, except of course, OT VIII
and the OT hatting courses which are delivered only on the Freewinds.
There are approximately 300 courses to report on and I will admit that
I had the project about 85 percent done when I screwed up and lost
all the data in one press of the button, never to be seen again.
Being an SP can really be tough at times ;).
Rather than delaying the stats report, I thought I would issue
what I have done so far. I also think these shorter lists of
completions may be easier for people to read and understand.
Take a look at this first set of stats. My comments are below

These stats, as well as the totals, show that 2001 was a pretty bad
year for them. They got the stats up in 2002 and as expected could not
maintain their uptrend in 2003. However the 2003 starts are in fact up
over the 2001 stats so generally, on this 3 year trend, they are
holding their own.
I find this group of stats above the most interesting.

This stat is up because of the massive push to get OT's in the field
back on the bridge and through OT V
But below you can see that they are not getting these OT V's onto
OT VI and completing OT VII. This means that they will not be
pumping out OT VII and VIII comps in the next year or two because they
don't have them enrolling and completely OT VI.

The OT VII stat is in fact up, but just barely and it's not an
impressive number considering that they have had people on this level
for years and years and only started allowing people to attest and/or
re-attest in late 2001.
The next section is sorted out as Other Auditing. These are
not services that are actual steps of the Bridge but are
other types of auditing done.

The L's are a FLAG ONLY Service and they are a big money maker for them
The L's are sold 25 hour blocks and one 25 hour block costs
$23,443,75.
Three L's could easily cost $100.000.00 because some people might take
more that 25 hours to do an L.
As you can see, they not having any trouble selling L's.
Summary:
The stats pretty much speak for themselves. The C of S will tell you
that they are having "unprecedented expansion" and certain critics
will tell you that Scn is ready to fold and collapse. Neither is the
truth.
Flag's stats generally down for 2003, but on a 3 year trend the stats
are up.
I think it's important for all of us, not just the C of S but all of
us to get and give accurate information.
